Another Aletek dual-walled exhaust system designed, manufactured and installed for a drill rig at MTW.
Our client wanted a solution to alleviate thermal issues, and avoid the need for thermal insulation blankets (lagging). The new dual-walled pipe and muffler solution provides ‘set and forget’ convenience, superior design and exceptional control of exhaust surface temperatures.
Aletek’s design and engineering team measured the existing pipes and performed 3D scanning for accurate product modelling. The pipes were redesigned to match endpoint constraints and ensure the increased dual-wall pipe diameter was suitably accommodated. Following the design phase, a completely new set of pipes, mufflers and tailpipes were manufactured, including bracketry and fasteners.
