Meet Pete! No two weeks are ever the same for our industrious Operations Manager Peter Churchill.

He’s had the privilege of being supported and carried by some of the best in the business throughout the years, let’s hear from Pete in his own words…

In 1986, 680 people applied for the one Boilermaking apprenticeship, I still have no clue how I was the successful candidate. On the first day of work, I met my life long friend Bruce Marshall and his Dad, who raced cars. There I found my love of deflection, stress, fatigue and maximising everything steel, all while playing with race cars. Guess who thought he’d won Lotto? It was an amazing time in my life, with multiple State titles and the treasured Australian title all added to the list.

Atlas Steels took a huge gamble and gave me an opportunity that involved computers, so many mates there helped carry a boilermaker across into programming. Back to my beloved DWW Engineering, that was more of a family than a workplace, and many years as Workshop Manager, all thanks to J.T & P.S.

A seven-month lap of Australia proved to the family that Brisbane didn’t have to be home. A quick year with Lifestyle camper trailers helping John and Luke evolve their caravan division and I found myself in Tim Ekert’s office.
